â™» Recycled Glass Filter Media
Some glass filtration media on the marketplace are produced from virgin glass - increasing the need for quarried materials.
Some glass filtration media only use one or two colours of glass, cherry-picking rather than recycling everything.

Our recycled glass sand is proud to encompass all the colours of glass available - WE RECYCLE 100% of a highly valuable and useful waste stream abandoned by the glass bottle recycling industry which is normally destined for landfill.

Our Recycled Glass Filter Media is a direct replacement for sand, enhancing the performance of a sand filter without the need for additional capital expenditure.
Benefits
Sharp free
Environmentally friendly 100% recycled product
With superior permeability and a 30% smaller headloss development compared to sand; backwashing is quicker and less frequent saving you time, energy and money.
Angular to sub-angular particle shape and bound silica content provides a 30% improvement in turbidity removal over silica sand.
Less susceptible to bio-fouling as, unlike silica sand Glass Filtration Media particles have a smoother surface, so bacteria cannot get trapped in any cracks or flaws, which means less remedial action and again less chemical treatment to destroy pollutants.
Less dense than sand, requiring 15% less media to fill the equivalent filter.
